Hi, I'm Lauren - welcome The Petal Cove.

Before becoming a full time, I worked as a makeup-artist and skincare consultant. I started painting properly in 2019, mainly as something creative to do in my spare time. I had no plans to turn it into a business at the time, I just really enjoyed painting and wanted to get better at it. 

I’ve always loved flowers, so naturally they’ve become the main subject of my paintings. I love playing around with different colours and varieties, and finding new ways to paint them without every piece feeling the same. I get a lot of my ideas simply from flowers I spot when I’m out – my camera roll is basically full of them at this point!

I work mainly in watercolour, although I also love experimenting with gouache, coloured pencil, fineliner and other materials. My work ranges from original botanical paintings and personal projects to bespoke commissions created to celebrate particular flowers, people and occasions. 

My studio is rarely particularly tidy. There are usually several paintings on the go, sketchbooks everywhere, an unreasonable amount of washi tape and at cup of coffee nearby.

The Petal Cove has given me a place to share my work, try new things and turn something I genuinely love doing into my full-time job. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who follows my work, buys a painting, commissions something personal or simply takes the time to have a look around.
